Landscape park of the manor house. In accordance with the contemporary fashion trends of the 19th century, an open-plan landscape park was arranged at the manor ‘Karlamuiza’ (Manor Karlsruhe), which comprised various facilitated land patches from the manor ‘Karlamuiza’ centre till the Amata river. The park included the hugest rock exposures and precipices in the valley: ‘Ainavu’ Precipice, ‘Erglu’ Cliff, ‘Gulbju’ Rock etc. A small part of the dendrological plantings and paths survived to this day. It is possible to walk down several paths of the old park, as well as to view the precipices and rock exposures along Amata. The improvement and arrangement of the territory still continues.
‘Ainavu’ Precipice is located on the bank of Amata, app. 1 km from the manor ‘Karlamuiza’, opposite to the Karli fish hatchery (former ‘Karlamuiza’ watermill), between Ainava and the ‘Klintsleji’ house. Forty-five metre high, more than 500 m long river bank precipice reveals the two rock exposures. This is one the of the highest rock exposures in Latvia. A spectacular scenery of the Amata valley can be marvelled from the precipice.
