Vienkoči Park – Traditional crafts and Nature in Gauja National Park

Vienkoči Park
Just a 20-minute drive from Kārļamuiža Country Hotel, Vienkoči Park is a peaceful and creatively inspiring destination nestled in the heart of Gauja National Park.
This carefully crafted open-air park offers scenic forest trails, handcrafted wooden sculptures, miniature historical buildings, and traditional Latvian homesteads – all created with great attention to detail and a deep respect for nature and heritage.
The park also features a Woodworking Museum, where visitors can explore the world of traditional craftsmanship. For those who enjoy hands-on experiences, creative workshops are available – from carving wooden spoons and making natural jewelry, to trying the art of pyrography.
A highlight of the park is its working blacksmith’s forge, where artisans craft durable tools and unique metal jewelry using time-honoured techniques. The forge offers a rare glimpse into Latvia’s blacksmithing traditions and an opportunity to take home something truly authentic.
Families will enjoy the natural playground and quiet picnic spots. The park is especially magical in autumn during the annual Night of Fire, when flickering lights and fire installations transform the forest into a glowing wonderland.
